Art doesn’t start with an idea, it starts with attention.

Marianne Sebetti,

Australian award-winning visual artist.

My work often begins with a pull toward something seen, felt, a feeling not yet put into form. From there, it moves into the studio — rooted in process, shaped by instinct. I’ve been working full-time as an artist for years, and each piece reflects a distinct stage in an evolving multidisciplinary practice.

What’s new

New solo show at the Artisans of Australia Gallery, Oct 8 - Nov 3, 2025.

EVERY DAY IS DIFFERENT

Marianne Sebetti is a multidisciplinary visual artist with a formal background in the visual arts. Her work has been recognised in national art awards and exhibited across regional and metropolitan Victoria. For several years, she worked primarily in the monochrome (black and white) art medium of printmaking, exploring minimalism and mark-making.

This exhibition marks a return to colour, portraiture, and a broader spectrum of themes. Every Day is Different brings together works created over a focused two-month period in 2025, during a time of experimentation and change. It’s the beginning of a new chapter: one defined by curiosity, play, and the search for new stylistic language.

Each piece in this exhibition began with a visual idea and was brought to life through a series of considered decisions: from the choice of art materials to the shape of the surface and how the image unfolds across it. This has been a time of active exploration, experimenting to better understand how different materials and methods can bring ideas to life in new ways.
